School classes

We offer a separate programme for school classes. Along with guided tours of the visitor mine, school pupils can experience mining-related topics first-hand in our interactive events.

Guided tours of the visitor mine are included in the admission. For every 20 school pupils, two accompanying adults are admitted free of charge. Guided tours in English and French may be arranged in advance at no extra cost, depending on availability.

Mining activity trail

Our mining activity trail (“Bergbau-Rallye”) helps school pupils to explore our exhibition halls on their own. The results can be checked against the answer sheet which is available free of charge at the information desk.

Workshops

Within the framework of our education programme we offer several workshops for school classes.
These can be used to supplement and consolidate topics already studied in class, or to introduce new units of teaching. In these workshops, theory is combined with practical activities to illustrate the material that has been learnt.
