Friends of the museum
The Vereinigung der Freunde von Kunst und Kultur im Bergbau e.V. (VFKK), recognized as a charitable organization, was founded in 1947 as a support organization for the Deutsches Bergbau-Museum Bochum.
The organization brings together people from many countries in Europe and overseas who feel an affinity with mining and its traditions, and who take an academic interest in mining and its history.
According to the organization’s statutes, its purpose is the preservation, promotion, care and propagation of art and culture in mining. It supports community education and vocational training, as well as academic research, mainly by holding events and issuing publications in the field of mining history.
