Activities for children and young people
You want to take your children on a visit to our museum? Then, you really have to see the visitor’s mine. Of course, we also offer you the option of registering your children for kids’ workshops and guided tours. All children's activities consist of a theoretical component and a practical one, allowing them to learn new things, while also trying out activities themselves.
The Deutsche Bergbau-Museum Bochum is open to the public. Masks are still mandatory (medical masks). Please note that from now on, the 2G rule for adults and young people aged 16 and over and the 3G rule for children and young people under 16 apply to visits to the Deutsches Bergbau-Museum Bochum. If you visit our museum, we are obliged to check your proof. An overview of the hygiene measures and protection requirements can be found here.
Due to current circumstances, program changes or cancellations may occur at short notice. Therefore, please inform yourself on our homepage about the currently valid Corona protection requirements for guided tours and events. You are also welcome to contact our visitor service by telephone during opening hours (Tues. to Sun. between 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.) at +49 234 5877-126.
We offer a one-hour and a two-hour event for children’s birthdays. As well as having a lot of fun, the kids will learn new information and can take a souvenir home with them. All two-hour events are available from Tuesday to Sunday, on public holidays and during school holidays in North-Rhine Westphalia. The one-hour events can only be booked from Tuesday to Friday, outside of the school holidays in North-Rhine Westphalia (not on public holidays).
