DER ANSCHNITT is the only periodical on mining history which is of international importance. Six issues are published every year, with extensive articles on all periods of mining history; short articles cast light on individual aspects of research and research findings. Every issue contains a review section and a supplement about the “masterpieces of mining-related art and culture”.
The last issue for each year contains the “International Bibliography – Articles on Mining”. Der Anschnitt goes out to around 750 members of the museum’s support organization, as well as numerous subscribers, research institutes and scholarly libraries worldwide. The mining history journal is published by the “Vereinigung der Freunde von Kunst und Kultur im Bergbau e.V., Bochum”, the organization that supports the Deutsches Bergbau-Museum.
