By signing your author or publisher contract, we collect and process your data in the manner described here on the basis of legal entitlement.
The data collection and data processing (personal and copyright-related) is carried out for the purpose of creating and publishing a publication (e.g. book or article) / article in printed and digital form. In addition, the data is used for publication for an online database in digital form (open access), for the implementation of pre-contractual measures and for accounting and tax purposes. Furthermore, we store your data in order to inform you about the creation of a new publication (monograph, article, contribution) or about new publications (Art. 6 para. 1 DS-GVO in connection with §§ 147 AO, 257 HGB).
We store and use your personal data only to the extent necessary for the execution of the contract, provision of services and invoicing.

Obligation to provide data
There is no contractual or legal obligation on your part to provide us with personal data. However, without the data you provide, we will not be able to conclude a contract with you and publish your book or article.

The data will be deleted as soon as they are no longer necessary for the purpose for which they were collected. After the storage purpose has ceased to apply, the retention periods are generally at least six or ten years. In accordance with our deletion concept, data is generally deleted immediately, unless this is contrary to any obligation to retain data, the necessity to fulfil the contract or a legitimate interest. In addition, data may be stored if this has been provided for by the European or national legislator in EU ordinances, laws or other regulations to which the person responsible is subject. The data will also be blocked or deleted if a storage period prescribed by the aforementioned standards expires, unless there is a need for further storage of the data for the conclusion or performance of a contract.
